"One of my fond childhood memories was visiting a TV station in elementary school. It was a magical place with tuns of activity. As time went on, so did the lust for someday working in TV or maybe film. My parents would take me to movies and eventually ended up buying me a film camera. Its amazing how a $10.00 Super 8 film camera can spark interest in filmmaking. At the age of 12, my library of Super 8 movies was finally assembled and watched publicly for the first time. The family finally saw themselves in motion and from that day forward, shooting was my profession. As Super-8 film died, video formats took its place. From Betamax to Hi-8 and eventually DVCAM became the format of choice. Eventually I ended up Directing live news programming, shooting commercial spots and editing during every week, on top of my education and part-time job!" - 2001 Tyler Purcell |

In more recent years, short subject films and documentary's have been the mainstay of Tyler's active life. The fascination of post production has led Tyler to work exclusively with the Apple based Final Cut Pro™ editing solution. Tyler has also been an Apple certified technician since 1998, so going the direction of FCP was only time. His love for film continued through college and into the short independent film market. With film's like "The Perfect Moment" and "The ID Project" Tyler extended his portfolio enough to get better gigs. In Fall of 2002, Tyler made the big jump to Hollywood. For the past 6 years, Tyler has been working in the motion picture capitol of the world. Fresh from Boston, Tyler worked in post production and cinematography on such films as "Burning Annie", "Sweet Potato Pie" , "Ruth Brown : Better late then never" and "Tempting Hyenas" where he designed an on-set FCP capturing rig. The success of these small projects has helped Tyler get his name heard around Hollywood, especially in the technical circuits where he mainly resides. |

The passion for documentary television and the sports he revolves around, enabled him to produce some excellent products. In 2001, he produced a very simple SCUBA documentary; "New England Diving; Whats in it for me" that to this day is one of the best ever made. Soon after in 2004, he produced a pilot episode for a Paintball show called "Behind the Net". This pilot episode ended up being so popular on the internet, no hosting company would support its release due to the amount of downloads it was getting. This proved to Tyler, his skills as a Documentary filmmaker were present and so he continued shooting documentary's and is currently working on a Motorcycle one. As a full-time job, Tyler works as an Engineer. He rubs shoulders with industry professionals all day long and enjoys the steady job. This is a place he enjoys being because it enables him to use his technical skills to help service the broadcast industry with years of experience. After hours, Tyler is a full-time dedicated motorcycle racer with his own team called: Mad Duc Racing. His obsession with motorcycle racing has been a huge factor in his recent life, working diligently to win races and championships. In the end, Tyler is a very unique individual with a passion for filmmaking. He keeps this passion wrapped up so whenever the big show comes along, he will be ready to go. This is what makes Tyler such a fantastic person, he waits for the perfect moment and when it happens, he is rested and ready to go! |
